Abstract:
The field of power electronics plays a very important role in dealing with the development of Science and Technology. Discussion One subject that has an important role in the field of power electronics is the DC-DC converter. Praktikum
Elektronika Daya is one of the compulsory subjects for electrical and electronics students in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, State University of Malang. At learning course, material power electronics DC-DC converters in a sub-subject buck converter are now using teaching material in the form of a learning trainer, but its trigger is used to generate PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) which is used to control the output voltage of the buck converter trainer using analog systems. So, teaching materials are still needed to be developed that can increase students’ comprehension by utilizing a microcontroller to generate PWM. The purpose of this development of teaching
materials is the availability of teaching materials that can help students understand the concepts and characteristics of the buck converter and determine the feasibility of developed teaching materials.
The steps of development of teaching materials that are used as follows: (1) surgical curriculum, (2) the potential and problems, (3) data collection, (4) product design, (5) design validation, (6) design revision, (7) production, (8)
product trials, (9) product revision, (10) utility testing, (11) product revision, (12) mass production.
Based on utility testing results, the percentage that is obtained from each trial subject are the following: (1) In media expert, obtained a percentage of 87%, (2)In subject expert, obtained a percentage of 81.7%, (3) At trial usage percentage obtained by 85, 94%. It can be concluded that the development of buck converter teaching materials for electrical engineering students is eligible to use as teaching media.
